Thank you for ...
Thank you for posting ! We truly are what we eat - "rainbow diet" says a lot. Keep it simple, pure and enjoy. The sad reality is corporate america makes that very difficult. It's hard to find good, clean, fresh food, yet easy to find, dead, processed, packaged, refined, chemically enhanced, genetically modified, antibiotic, pesticide, herbicide, fungicide, msg, aspartame, fluoride, e-coli, salmonella, nitrates and irradiated food stuffs. Oh my how yummy does that sound. People, wake up.

I am a Food ...
I am a Food Technologist, so it is difficult for me to keep quiet on this topic... I would not mind working for the Industry maintaining my right to my opinion... Rice is a fantastic source of nutrients, but most will buy the polished version (sometimes even "parboiled") without realising that the greatest source of nourishment (The Germ) has been removed as it contains large amounts of oxidating fatty acids (very nutritious), which would become rancid under long storage (same with all grains).

Agreed... And it is ...
Agreed... And it is a global problem (and not only related to Food). The Industry will go to great lengths to keep the public in ignorance, or even worse, misinformed. However it often seems the public itself who wish a convenience "spoonfed" existence. Hardly anybody bakes their own bread, let alone mill their own grain any longer, and so lose-out on the very nutrients that are removed from flour, simply to extend shelf-life, make their own Tofu or Yoghurt although it is so simple (& cheaper).

That is a very ...
That is a very important point. If someone lives to 78 and they would have lived to 88, maybe your right. However, those who would live to 71, and preclude there life by 30 years, due to bad health habits, than I cannot agree with you. Accordingly, when you only have one life to live, an additional 10 years in this universe is a precious thing.

We all know what we ...
We all know what we should be doing to be healthier because we're constantly being told it in a million different ways - eat less, eat better, eat fruit and veg. We know this stuff off by heart but the fact is, we're human, and a drink & a burger aren't going to hurt every now and then.
Those who are strict with themselves may well buy as much as another ten years - and so what? I say it's not the length of the life, but the quality of it and I won't be ticked off by food nazis for enjoying it!

Great documentary
...
Great documentary
A case study would be Jack Lalanne.
He is a comination of good food+exercise.
And I agree, it's not just living longer but also living healthy. An occasional burger will not kill you, but personally eating a factory-made burger does not constitute my idea of 'enjoying life'.
