What is a healthy weight loss goal?

I’m 17, 5′5", and 180lbs. My calculated ideal body weight is 130lbs. I’m not looking to be skinny i like some curves so what is a healthy goal for the New Year? Thats about 5 and a half months from now.

Usually, to lose a pound, you have to expend 3500 more calories than you eat. Some calories you burn just by daily living, but exercise will help speed that up. Then, a diet with lean meat, fruits and veggies is great. Hold off on the soda, chips, french fries, etc. You should be able to safely expend 500 more calories a day than you eat, that equates to one pound a week. (It will be quicker with more intense exercise). So, in 5 and a half months, you should be able to lose 25-30 pounds easily. Good Luck
