How good nutrition is related to the other components of personal fitness?
March 9th, 2010 | by admin |Also, what are the three components of a sound weight (fat) control program?
Outside of activity (of almost any sort) nutrition is a huge factor in weight loss … calories in must be less than spent calories to lose weight. Period.
Diets are short term solutions to generally poor habits we’ve learned in eating … it’s not that tough to change however – you just need to want it badly enough. (Making right food choices seems overwhelming at first but remember, if it took 5 years to put on the weight it will take time to lose it and be in shape once again.)
Eat nutritious foods (generally not ready made) and start exercising slowly and then add to it. Stick with it! Make it easy and make it fun!
There are no ‘magic’ formulas to losing fat. Weight loss is weight loss but you are better served to do some aerobic and anaerobic activities. Meaning, if you lift weights it adds to overall muscle mass (adding body weight) but it also increases metabolism (that will in turn burn calories – including fat.)
Good luck!

Nutrition is key to being in good health! You must cut down on saturated fats, HDL (the bad) fat, sodium, and simple carbohydrates.
WATER,WATER,WATER!!! You must consume atleast 8-10 cups of water/day, not only to stay hydrated and feeling refreshed, but more importantly…water is the key component in maintaining a high/steady metabolic rate.
